Conventions

This is the website of the Hungarian 18XX fan community. The main goal of founding the community was to help 18XX games become widely known in Hungary.

• We held our first game day in November 2024. Since then, enthusiasm has remained strong — we play once or twice a month.

• In April 2024, we organized the first 18XX Con, which attracted huge interest. More than thirty people played at nine tables, and we even had participants from abroad: Sweden, France, and Austria.

Event Location: Madách Cultural Center, Vác, Hungary

Getting there:

• From Budapest: Vác is about 35 km north of Budapest. By car, it takes around 40–50 minutes.

• By Train: Frequent trains run from Budapest’s Nyugati Railway Station to Vác, journey time approx. 35–45 minutes. The train station is about 10 minutes by taxi or 15 minutes on foot from the Madách Cultural Center.

• By Airport: Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport is approximately 50 km from Vác. From the airport, you can take a taxi, car rental, or train via Budapest city center.
  
  

Venue: Madách Cultural Center is centrally located in Vác and easily accessible on foot from the city center.

Accommodation: Several hotels and guesthouses are available in Vác, including Hotel Vác, Hotel Palota, and boutique options. Booking in advance is recommended.

Extra: Vác is a charming town on the Danube with a picturesque town center and riverside promenade. Since it’s just a short train ride from Budapest, you can also combine your visit with sightseeing in Hungary’s vibrant capital—explore the historic Castle District, the Danube promenade, world-class museums, and famous thermal baths!
